Production updates on styrene plants in China

Chinese Xinpu Chemical is planning a shutdown at its styrene unit while Shuangliang Lishide has faced an unexpected outage, sources close to the companies reported.


Accordingly, Xinpu Chemical is expected to take its 320,000 tons/year unit offline by next week with no restart date confirmed. 


Shuangliang Lishide, meanwhile, is planned to restart its 210,000 tons/year styrene line that was shut following an equipment malfunction by October 1. The company has a combined styrene production capacity of 420,000 tons/year.
